Job summary

Barrier Compliance Services is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead the estimating process for commercial construction projects from bid invitation through contract award. You will develop preconstruction strategies, prepare detailed estimates, review plans, and collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in estimating or project management, proficiency with takeoffs and pricing, and experience negotiating contracts, using tools like Bluebeam,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating and/or project management experience.
• Experience managing estimating from takeoffs to proposals and contracts.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating construction contracts.
• Hands-on project management or field installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute preconstruction strategies that support company growth and new contract goals
• Estimate commercial construction projects ranging from $5,000 to $5 million
• Actively manage approximately 5 to 10 opportunities at a time
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate project pricing
• Prepare competitive estimates and detailed proposals
• Solicit and respond to bid invitations
• Participate in pre bid walkthroughs, preconstruction meetings, and project discussions as needed
• Manage opportunities from initial review through contract award
• Review and negotiate contracts
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
• Work closely with the internal team to ensure accurate and complete proposals
• Communicate professionally and consistently with customers throughout the bidding process
• Help maintain and strengthen the professional and ethical reputation of our construction team
