S. B. Ballard Construction Company, a leading General Contractor/Construction Manager in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our Virginia Beach team.

The role focuses on analyzing drawings, developing accurate estimates, and assembling detailed bids for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. You will develop conceptual, preliminary, and final estimates, identify value engineering options, and collaborate with the estimating team to

Qualifications

• Proven construction estimating experience and knowledge of means and methods.
• Strong understanding of construction industry materials and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with OST and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and final estimates during design development.
• Assemble bid proposals and pricing summaries; solicit subcontractor bids.
• Identify risks and value engineering opportunities and participate in bid reviews.
