Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Construction Estimator in Washington to develop accurate conceptual and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects. You will collaborate with preconstruction and project teams, perform quantity take-offs, and ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating for commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.
• Understanding of design management processes and impact of design changes on budgets.
• Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II WBS in estimating.
• Ability to perform quantity take-offs for major construction systems.
• Experience preparing cost estimates for preconstruction, budgeting, and bidding.
• Proficiency with estimating software tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for organizing cost data.
• Familiarity with takeoff tools like OST.

• Collaborate with preconstructions managers and project teams to develop accurate estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and summarize data for comparison and decision-making.
• Prepare cost estimates for budgeting and bidding events.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor pricing for bids.
• Maintain alignment between scope, schedule, and budget as design evolves.
• Evaluate and select subcontractors based on value and qualifications.
• Create and monitor project estimates as scope refines.
• Engage subcontractors to build relationships with trade partners.
• Interpret blueprints and specs to ensure accurate estimates.
• Use estimating software to present clear estimates.
