Job summary

Ratcliff Construction Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to pursue and secure Louisiana projects from concept to award. You’ll own estimating across hard bid, negotiated, and CMAR work, analyze scope and risk, coordinate with trade partners, and support the BD team with proposals and presentations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Experience managing estimates from setup through bid submission.
• Knowledge of commercial costs, CSI divisions, trade scopes, and estimating practices.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with ability to anticipate issues before bid day.
• Organized, proactive, and able to meet deadlines.
• Strong communicator capable of building relationships with subs, owners, and design teams.
• Advanced Excel; CMiC, OST, Bluebeam, P6 and/or MS Project experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent commercial estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial estimates from initial setup through final bid submission.
• Develop accurate estimates from concept through construction documents.
• Analyze plans, specifications, addenda, and contracts for complete scope coverage.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimation.
• Identify scope gaps, pricing exposures, and project risks early.
• Solicit and manage subcontractor and supplier pricing and participation.
• Estimate general conditions and self-performed scopes of work.
• Support proposals with BD team on presentations and pursuit strategy.
• Build relationships with trade partners, owners, architects, and engineers.
• Provide estimating support after award to align with budget and schedule.
