We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator with specific expertise in insulation systems for commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading and interpreting construction plans, performing accurate quantity takeoffs, and preparing cost estimates for thermal, fireproofing, and acoustic insulation scopes. This role requires in-depth knowledge of insulation materials, industry standards, and commercial construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine insulation scope and requirements.
• Work with our takeoff team to ensure correct scope for insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, mineral wool, spray foam, rigid board, fireproofing).
• Develop labor and material cost estimates using our in-house pricing model.
• Prepare complete and accurate bid proposals and assist in the bid submission process.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as required.
• Track and analyze post-bid results and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Stay informed about market trends, insulation technologies, and changes in building codes or energy standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of3–5 yearsof experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on insulation systems.
• Strong understanding of insulation types, R-value requirements, fire ratings, and installation techniques.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, QuickBid, or similar).
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (but not required with proven experience).

Preferred Skills:

• Prior field experience in insulation or commercial mechanical systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of LEED, energy codes (IECC/ASHRAE), and green building practices.
• Experience estimating for multiple trades is a bonus, but not required.
