Job description

Charters Brothers Construction is a dynamic and growing commercial Construction Manager / General Contractor based in Southern New Hampshire. Established in 2005, we are proud to celebrate over 19 years of excellence in the industry. As our company continues to expand, we are seeking to hire either an Estimator or Assistant Estimator to join our team. The final position will be determined based on the experience and skills of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities for this role include:

1. Identify and secure new bid opportunities.
2. Organize and thoroughly review bid documents.
3. Submit RFIs (Requests for Information) to the design team as needed.
4. Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and site visits.
5. Solicit subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
7. Review and qualify incoming bids, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
8. Tabulate bids and perform detailed take-offs.
9. Prepare comprehensive estimates and review them with the Senior Estimator prior to submission.
10. Facilitate estimate hand-off and review sessions with Project Managers upon award.
11. Support Project Managers in preparing estimates for change orders and project adjustments as needed.

Ideal candidates will have:

• A strong background in commercial construction estimating with a proven track record of developing accurate and competitive estimates.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Proficiency in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
