Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare estimates for time, costs, materials, and labor. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, knowledgeable about construction industry practices, and understands various commercial building techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review plans and drawings to understand project scope.
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and project managers for pricing and project details.
• Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Stay updated on construction materials and technologies.
• Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Maintain records of estimated and actual costs.
• Assist in contract negotiations to keep projects within budget.
• Coordinate with project management during project execution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a construction estimator.
• Strong understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
• Knowledge of financial principles related to construction.
• Expertise in research, data analysis, and estimation formulas.
• Excellent math and IT skills with an analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in software such as DocuSketch, Excel, Bluebeam, MS Suite, and CompanyCam.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $75,000 to $110,000 annually. Benefits include 401(k), health, dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

• Work Environment: Office with occasional site visits and travel.
• Reporting to: General Manager of Construction Services.
• Location: Avon, CO (Summit/Eagle County).
