Fiorilli Construction of Cleveland, OH is looking to hire a full-time Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Senior Project Manager in overseeing commercial construction projects from start to closeout. Positioned above a Project Engineer, the APM handles advanced project controls, subcontract execution, shop drawing and submittal review, and critical project communication. You will ensure project goals around budget, schedule, quality, and safety are achieved while developing the autonomy and leadership skills needed to eventually take on full Project Manager responsibilities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with Senior Project Managers to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. You'll be a key team player responsible for managing advanced project controls, reviewing submittals, and ensuring seamless communication across teams. This role allows you to take on increasingly independent responsibilities while developing your leadership skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and tracking subcontractors, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
• Reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and product data for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintaining project schedules, milestone reporting, and financial tracking tools.
• Acting as the daily point of contact for subcontractors and vendors.
• Supporting job site coordination and manpower planning alongside field teams.
• Assisting with project closeouts, ensuring compliance documents are completed, and resolving billing retainage.

You'll gain valuable exposure to all aspects of commercial construction management, positioning you for advancement to a Project Manager role.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

• 3 - 5 years of experience in commercial construction environment, preferably as a Project Engineer.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools and software (e.g., Jonas Premier CRM).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

This full-time project management position typically works 8.5 hours per day from Monday to Thursday with a half-day every other Friday.
