Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED with vocational/technical training in construction/mechanical or equivalent experience.
• Must possess valid Georgia driver's license and certification in appropriate trade per position.

Responsibilities

• Inspects new and existing properties for compliance with County codes related to building, zoning, and safety.
• Issues citations or stops work for non-compliance and testifies in court as required.
• Develops and maintains inspection files and logs; prepares reports and progress-payment requests.
• Responds to inquiries from the public about inspection schedules and results; communicates code requirements.
• Consults with developers, engineers, architects, owners, and contractors regarding code requirements.
