Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; three years of experience in building trades or construction inspections; or equivalent experience.
  • ICC Residential and Commercial Building Inspections Certification OR related Residential/Commercial Inspections Certification within 1 year.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; ensures resources and progress reporting for management.
  • Conducts field inspections for code compliance at project sites; reviews plans and compares to construction.
  • Identifies violations; issues citations; prepares evidence for court as needed.
  • Approves construction activities meeting code requirements; maintains inspection records.
  • Communicates with owners, contractors, developers, and the public about codes and procedures; handles inquiries.
  • Performs administrative duties; maintains inspection files, permits, and database records.
