Job summary

Community Work Services (CWS) in Boston, MA, seeks a Commercial Cleaning Instructor who will provide classroom instruction, hands-on training, and workplace coaching between CWS headquarters and Suffolk County Jail.

The role requires 2–4 years in cleaning or building services, OSHA/ISSA/CMI credentials within 90 days, and strong communication and instruction skills; duties include safety training, job readiness feedback, and coordinating documentation.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of commercial cleaning, custodial, environmental services, or building services experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, floor care, equipment, infection control, chemical safety, SDS, PPE, and workplace safety.
• Ability to instruct and coach participants with varying learning styles; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom and practical training in commercial cleaning, floor care, equipment operation, infection control, chemical handling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), PPE, and workplace safety.
• Supervise trainees at CWS and assigned off-site locations; demonstrate safe equipment use and monitor work quality, attendance, safety, and professional conduct.
• Assist with OSHA training coordination and documentation; coach participants and report safety or participant concerns promptly.
• Provide Case Managers with progress and work-readiness feedback; participate in case conferences, New Starts meetings, recruitment, assessment, and placement support.
• Assist with employer partnerships, basic computer skills, online training, job-search activities, and CWS program tours as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with commercial partners and assist with procurement records, invoice processing, and program documentation.
• Lead SourceAmerica Disability Qualification Determination (DQD) and Participating Employee Information (PEI) documentation, coordinating timely and accurate records with internal teams.
