Job summary

100Hires, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. You will develop accurate cost estimates from plans, specs, and bid documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and analyze labor, materials, and equipment costs.

Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify scope, identify risks, and pursue value engineering opportunities while maintaining cost databases and supporting subcontractor bidding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of commercial estimating or civil construction cost estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as PlanSwift or Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Prepare and submit competitive proposals and bid packages.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and requirements.
• Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
• Track and analyze project costs versus estimates for continuous improvement.
• Assist in contract negotiations and scope reviews as needed.

The Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and supporting the bidding process for commercial construction and service projects.
