Job summary

Farm Bureau Financial Services seeks a Commercial Business Center Director with deep underwriting and leadership experience to guide the Commercial Business Unit. You will develop strategies, empower underwriting staff, and partner with agents to drive profitable growth while overseeing budgets and operations.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and strategic thinking to lead change and deliver measurable results in a dynamic insurance environment.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent plus 10 years of relevant experience is required.
• Commercial insurance experience and prior industry leadership experience is preferred.
• CPCU preferred.
• Be a high-level leader that is data minded and process oriented to lead the team.

Responsibilities

• Have responsibility for achieving and maintaining the critical success factors of client service, growth, loss ratio and efficient operations for the Commercial Business Unit.
• Develop and implement a business center strategy including performance metrics to monitor and improve results, develop underwriting staff, and build partnerships with agency partners for profitable growth.
• Build strong relationships with marketing and understand distribution systems.
• Manage a commercial underwriting team with responsibility for profitable growth.
• Oversee budget and operating procedures for the Commercial Business Unit to drive efficiency and profitability.

What You'll Do:

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to express yourself in a professional and diplomatic manner.
• Must have excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and shift priorities to achieve corporate and business unit goals.
• Travelrequired (approximately 20-30%). A valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records are required.
