Job summary

Core Executive Recruiting is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in Tampa, FL to perform hands-on maintenance and repair of building systems across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety. The role emphasizes commercial real estate, not residential.

Requires at least 4 years in building maintenance or completion of an accredited trade school in HVAC, electrical, or related field, with strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 4 years of building maintenance experience and/or completion of an accredited trade school in HVAC, electrical, or related field.
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Ability to safely operate building equipment including chillers, generators, switchgear, pumps, and AHUs.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Monitor chillers, building automation/energy management systems, and water treatment levels; document readings.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including circuits, breakers, outlets, and lighting components.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems: faucets, toilets, pumps, drains, PRVs.
• Inspect and respond to life safety systems: fire alarms, emergency generators, fire pumps; keep logs.
• Perform general building repairs: doors, security systems, painting, drain clearing.
• Read mechanical drawings and record tenant utility meter readings.
• Respond to tenant service requests and assist with other maintenance needs; overtime/on-call as needed.
