Job summary

Building and Land Technology (BLT) is seeking a dependable Building Engineer - Commercial to support day-to-day operation and maintenance of our Stamford, CT portfolio. The role is full-time, onsite, with a rotating on-call schedule roughly every 3–4 weeks.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, BAS/EMS operation, and coordinating with tenants and vendors. 2+ years in commercial facilities maintenance and strong HVAC/plumbing knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance or related trades.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform preventative maintenance independently.
• Familiarity with BAS and EMS preferred.
• Basic knowledge of local, state, and national building codes.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Trade licenses or EPA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and general upkeep of commercial building systems.
• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and BAS.
• Maintain HVAC equipment including air handlers, fans, VAVs, pumps, and water systems.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals and equipment specs.
• Communicate with supervisors, vendors, tenants, and ownership representatives.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
