Job summary

First Merchants Brand in Indianapolis is offering a paid 12-week Summer Internship Program for college students. The Commercial Bank Intern will support Commercial Administration, handling credit lending analysis, loan onboarding, analytics, and compliance while contributing to the bank’s 2027 objectives.

Participants gain mentorship, exposure to executives, and hands-on experience across multiple banking functions. The program emphasizes learning, community service, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17th - August 6th, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Administration team with day-to-day responsibilities and projects.
• Contribute to credit lending analysis, loan onboarding, business analytics, compliance, and sales enablement.
• Gain exposure to core commercial banking operations while delivering project outcomes.
• Learn from leaders across credit, commercial lending, loan administration, and analytics.
