Analyst, Commercial Asset Management

Position Description:
The Analyst will report to the Managing Director of U.S. Commercial Asset Management and will focus primarily on monitoring and reporting asset level performance, identifying potential issues, and assisting the team with asset business plan development and implementation for Starwood’s U.S. commercial and data center portfolio. The position is based in San Francisco, CA.
Specific responsibilities include:
  1. Preparing property business plans, operating and capital budgets, and leasing strategy;
  2. Monitoring business plan performance and making tactical and strategic recommendations, as appropriate;
  3. Evaluating lease proposals and managing the leasing process;
  4. Conducting market assessments and making recommendations based on results;
  5. Interacting with joint venture partners and third-party service providers;
  6. Performing property and portfolio valuations and return analyses;
  7. Working on special projects including hold-sell analysis, evaluation of refinancing activities, and sector initiatives;
  8. Assisting with acquisition due diligence and with the disposition process;
  9. Reviewing development plans and development draws.
Qualifications:
  1. 1-3 years relevant real estate experience preferred, including: real estate acquisitions, asset management, construction management, operations, or finance.
  2. Strong communication skills (both written and oral);
  3. Development and/or real estate cash flow modeling experience;
  4. Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ARGUS);
  5. A true self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited supervision;
  6. Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance or related area.
