The position involves work in ComEd’s West region, includes a take-home vehicle, and offers overtime pay. Testing and Commissioning engineers are frontline field engineers who commission, maintain, and troubleshoot transmission and distribution protection and control systems within substations. System types include relays, SCADA, automation, power and control equipment, fiber optics, power line carrier, and revenue metering. Responsibilities include creating commissioning plans, writing procedures, testing, analyzing results, troubleshooting malfunctions, supporting maintenance, and performing preventive tasks. They also lead in field activities, support outage planning, maintain engineering documents, assist with audits, and promote safety culture.
