Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Plant Operator to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and monitoring of turbine and related equipment. The role requires adherence to strict safety procedures and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

On-site shifts, OT, weekend work, and travel up to 15% are expected as part of the position. Required are a technical or associate degree or equivalent experience, plus 2 years in a related role; POSS, MASS, and a medical exam including respirator fit

Qualifications

Technical or Associate Degree required; 2 years related work experience if degree is not held.
If no degree, HS Diploma/GED with 2 years related work experience acceptable.
Must pass Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and MASS tests.
Must complete a medical physical including a respirator fit test.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance of plant equipment; troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment.
Monitor equipment performance through testing, analysis, and variance reporting.
Perform inventory duties and ensure proper spares and materials are available.
Follow emergency procedures during abnormal operations and adhere to all safety procedures.
