Job summary

Valmont is seeking a Combustion Engineer to drive projects around combustion systems in the hot dip galvanizing sector. You will oversee design to implementation, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures while aiding reliability and safety.

The role involves hands-on work with equipment, contractors, and operations staff to boost efficiency and product quality. The position reports to the NA Coatings Engineering Director and requires up to 50% travel (domestic and international).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering.
• Experience with PLC-based combustion control systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to plan and manage projects from design to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot combustion systems across facilities.
• Develop procedures for tuning, optimization, and performance testing to improve fuel efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot combustion, thermal, and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate with teams for projects, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
