Job summary

You will install, start up, repair, and tune combustion systems, supervise contractors, train staff, read schematics, and ensure NFPA compliance. The role requires 9+ years in controls and instrumentation and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in controls and instrumentation.
• Experience with combustion systems and fault finding.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Engineering or technical degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OHSA and environmental laws.
• Supervise contractors during shutdowns, projects, or maintenance.
• Install, start up, repair and tune combustion systems and fuel trains.
• Train other employees on combustion systems operation.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot with/without diagrams.
• Conduct combustion analysis, optimize burner control systems.
• Maintain and update HMI/PLC programs for combustion and safety systems.
• Write tuning/startup reports and specify replacement parts.
• Coordinate with clients to identify additional opportunities.
• Understand NFPA 70/85/86/87 and assess fan curves.
