Job summary

Ameri-Force is seeking an experienced Combo Welder, Structural Welder, and Shipfitter to join our team in a shipyard or industrial setting. You will weld and fit steel components, read blueprints, and ensure weld quality to specification.

The role requires proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW as well as passing a welding test and lifting 50+ lbs. Prior shipyard or marine experience is preferred, with full-time hours and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a combo welder, structural welder, and shipfitter.
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW preferred).
• Ability to pass a welding test (plate and/or pipe).
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Experience in shipyard, marine, or heavy structural environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using multiple processes including Stick welding, MIG welding, and Flux-cored arc welding.
• Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and layout plans.
• Tack, fit, and weld structural parts for shipbuilding or repair.
• Use hand tools, torches, grinders, and measuring equipment.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various weather conditions as required.
