• Minimum of 3 years of marine structural welding experience preferred.
• Experience in shipyard, marine construction, or heavy industrial welding required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on ship hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and other marine structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
• Utilize welding processes including FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW as required.
• Ensure all welds meet shipyard, customer, and regulatory quality standards.
• Operate welding equipment and related tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and shipyard safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, shipfitters, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
• Pass pre-employment requirements including hands-on welding test, drug screening, and pre-employment physical examination.

Pre-Employment Requirements

All candidates must:

• Successfully pass a hands-on welding test.
• Successfully pass a drug screening.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination.
• Possess a valid government-issued photo identification.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Comply with all shipyard security and access requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial environments.
