MOHR Talent in Fairport, NY is seeking an experienced Combo Welder / Fabricator to fabricate railings, stairs, and structural steel components from prints in a Rochester-area shop. You will handle layout, fit-up, cutting, bending, welding, and final inspection with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing layout, drilling, grinding, and assembly, and working safely around cranes.

Qualifications

• Previous welding and steel fabrication experience.
• Strong blueprint and fabrication-print reading skills.
• Experience with layout, fit-up, and assembly.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Job description

Location: Fairport, NY 14450
Pay: $25.00–$28.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

We are seeking an experienced Combo Welder / Fabricator for a structural steel fabrication operation in the Rochester area. This position focuses on the fabrication of railings, stairs, miscellaneous metals, and structural steel components.

We are looking for someone who can be given a fabrication print and take the job through layout, fit-up, cutting, bending, assembly, welding, and final inspection with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate railings, stairs, miscellaneous metals, and structural steel components

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop prints

• Perform layout and fit-up according to drawings and measurements

• Accurately use a tape measure and other measuring tools

• Cut, drill, grind, bend, and torch steel components

• Perform pipe bending and assist with sheet-bending operations

• Fit, assemble, and weld railing systems and miscellaneous steel

• Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy

• Handle and move steel materials throughout the shop

• Work safely around cranes and material-handling equipment

• Assist with beam and column fabrication as needed

• Cross-train on additional fabrication equipment and processes

Qualifications

• Previous welding and hands-on steel fabrication experience

• Strong blueprint and fabrication-print reading skills

• Experience with layout, fit-up, and assembly

• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure

• Experience with railings, stairs, miscellaneous metals, structural steel, or similar fabrication

• Comfortable cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, fitting, assembling, and welding steel

• Pipe-bending or sheet-bending experience is a plus

• CNC or plasma-table experience is a plus

• Comfortable with material handling and general shop responsibilities

Important

This is a combination welding and fabrication position, not a welding-only job. Candidates should be comfortable performing the complete fabrication process and working throughout the shop as production needs change.

The strongest candidates will be able to read a print, lay out the material, fit and assemble the components, weld the assembly, and produce an accurate finished product.

Compensation & Benefits

• $25.00–$28.00/hour, depending on experience
