Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Teardown Engineer in Las Vegas to identify root causes of locomotive component failures and transform findings into corrective actions. You will work within the Reliability Center, coordinating with shop operations to improve quality and process capability across remanufacturing of combos.

You will apply structured problem-solving, analyze performance data, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to drive durable product improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field with 2+ years in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, or Engineering.
• Associate degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field with 5+ years in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, or Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to apply analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques in an industrial environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all teardown activities comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
• Lead and perform hands-on analytical teardowns and teardown reviews.
• Interact with customers during joint teardowns and support investigations.
• Provide timely technical findings to customer-facing teams.
• Analyze performance data and quality records to identify failure trends and root causes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into improvements.
