Job summary

DC Army National Guard Combat Engineers design and build bridges, roadways, secure perimeters, and firing systems while detecting and neutralizing mines to safeguard the team. You will learn demolitions, obstacle construction, and heavy equipment operation in a demanding field environment.

Training includes hands-on construction projects, 10 weeks of Basic Training, 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and potential tuition assistance through federal and state programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ages 17–35 must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Military enlistment in Army National Guard and MOS availability.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives.
• Route clearance of obstacles and rivers during operations.
