Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks Combat Engineers to support missions by designing and building bridges, roadways, securing perimeters, and deterring hazards to safeguard the unit. You will join a Combat Engineer team to plan and execute engineering projects under varied conditions.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). You will earn a regular paycheck during training and qualify for tuition assistance, with benefits spanning

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard and meet eligibility requirements.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35; must pass a physical exam and meet legal/moral standards

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions
• Place and detonate explosives
• Conduct route clearance of obstacles and rivers
