Job summary

DC Army National Guard Combat Engineers design and build bridges, roads, secure perimeters, and set up firing systems while detecting and safely neutralizing mines to safeguard the unit. You’ll perform route clearance, construct obstacles, and support battlefield engineering tasks.

You will gain hands-on construction experience, basic demolitions training, and opportunities for tuition assistance and veteran benefits through the Montgomery GI Bill and other programs.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Age 17–35 years.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal/moral standards.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives.
• Conduct route clearance of obstacles and rivers.
