Job summary

Army National Guard Combat Engineer personnel design and build bridges, roadways, secure perimeters, and defensive systems to safeguard units. You will learn to detect and neutralize mines and hazards while protecting teammates in unpredictable environments.

Responsibilities include constructing positions and bridges, placing explosives, and performing route clearance. Training spans 10 weeks of Basic Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid hands-on construction projects.

Qualifications

• Must be enlisted in the Army National Guard.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Citizenship requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives as directed.
• Conduct route clearance of obstacles and rivers.
