Level Up Games, LLC is hiring a Combat Director for a ~3–4 month term to overhaul Kyzen combat. You will diagnose readability, pacing, and mastery, define a universal attack-type framework, and craft distinct mob patterns.

This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with engineering to ensure a cohesive, fun, masterable combat system. You will prototype attacks, tune in-engine, and deliver a comprehensive framework and handoff package.

Competenze

• 7+ years of professional game design experience, including 3+ years owning combat systems or enemy design.
• At least one shipped title where combat was a core pillar of your role, with responsibility for how it played.
• Demonstrated experience designing enemy attack patterns and behavior, with telegraph design and timing.

Mansioni

• Audit Kyzen's current combat and deliver a prioritized improvement plan.
• Establish combat design pillars and standards for all encounters.
• Own the feel of combat: hitboxes, input buffering, cancel timing, tells, etc.
