Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Research Operator 1 at the Columbus, Ohio plant in the Abbott Nutrition Division. This role blends, processes, fills and sterilizes liquid and powdered infant and adult nutrition products, performing material handling, cleaning, CIP, COP, and packaging tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's in technical field preferred.
• 4 years of plant production experience (preferably in drug, food or beverage manufacturing).
• Ability to read and follow work orders, troubleshoot equipment, and operate powered industrial vehicles.

• Execute manufacturing steps per the approved work order documents.
• Complete tasks associated with cleaning, CIP and setup of necessary equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Obtain Better Process Control certification.
• Execute environmental monitoring sampling.
• Standardize and use pH meters and adjust levels with appropriate reagents.
• Prepare blends, slurries and solutions for product manufacture.
• Operate heating/cooling of tanks/mixers.
• Bulk liquid transfers to tanker and refrigerated trucks.
• Setup, operation and cleaning of liquid and powder fillers.
• Perform double seam evaluations.
• Maintenance and operation of homogenizers.
• Setup, operation and CIP of heat treatment systems.
