Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, Ohio is hiring a Research Operator 1 to blend, process, fill and sterilize liquid and powdered nutrition products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will follow cGMP, operate fillers and CIP/COP steps, maintain calibrations, and support quality assurance while adhering to safety and environmental standards. A high school diploma is required; a technical degree and 4 years in production are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
• At least four years of plant production experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and food processing.
• Ability to read and follow work order documents; troubleshoot equipment.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Execute manufacturing steps per the approved work order documents.
• Complete tasks associated with cleaning, CIP and setup of necessary equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Obtain Better Process Control certification.
• Execute environmental monitoring sampling.
• Standardize and use pH meters and adjust levels with appropriate reagents.
• Prepare blends, slurries and solutions for product manufacture.
• Operate heating/cooling of tanks/mixers.
• Bulk liquid transfers to tanker and refrigerated trucks.
• Setup, operation and cleaning of liquid and powder fillers.
• Perform double seam evaluations.
• Maintenance and operation of homogenizers.
• Setup, operation and CIP of heat treatment systems.
