Job summary

Specialty Granules LLC is seeking a first-line supervisor for our mining/manufacturing operations in the United States. The role requires 1–2 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of MSHA rules, and strong Lean/continuous improvement skills to lead safety, production, and cost goals.

The candidate will manage production personnel, coordinate with maintenance, develop staff, and drive SOPs and root cause analysis. A high school diploma is required; college or trade certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED; college degree or trade certification preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years supervisory experience in mining/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems in a mining/manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, production and housekeeping standards are met at all times.
• Acquire and demonstrate thorough knowledge of MSHA standards.
• Conduct contractor safety inspections per SGI policy.
• Clearly understand and execute Emergency Management Plan if needed.
• Lead/influence/manage people and drive change in operations.
• Develop and improve production personnel skills for future opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement using Lean and problem-solving techniques.
