Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant, Practice Operations, to support the delivery of healthcare services in the practice setting.

You will prepare patients for examination, collect vital signs, update records, and coordinate with providers and care team to ensure smooth patient flow. Ideal candidates bring at least one year of clinical experience or completion of a Medical Assistant program, with strong customer service skills and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment.
• Pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment.
• Assists in preparation for examination including vitals, meds, allergies, and patient history.
• Communicates with Care Team about discharge, ED visits, lab testing, and specialist visits.
• Maintains vaccine temperature logs and overall clinical supplies.
• Performs other administrative tasks as needed and supports quality improvement initiatives.
