Duties include preparing patients for visits, updating records, and coordinating with providers and care teams. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or MA program, with 1 year of clinical experience or MA program completion, and current BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and determining needed services.
• Prepare patients for examination: height, weight, vital signs, update meds, allergies, and visit reason.
• Assist in taking vital signs and medically-related tasks; can administer injections or immunizations per state guidelines.
• Handle administrative tasks such as check-in/check-out and front-desk procedures as needed.
• Maintain vaccine temperature logs, inventory, and stocking of clinical supplies.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste per protocol and keep exam rooms clean.
• Communicate with Care Team regarding hospital discharges, labs, or specialist visits.
• Participate in department meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
