Job summary

Actalent is hiring a permanent Color Lab Technician based in Congers, NY. The role collaborates with chemists and clients to create and customize color shades and formulations, maintaining the color library and ensuring compliance with company standards.

The position involves coordinating tests with global laboratories and transferring formulas to production. The ideal candidate has a related science degree and 1–3 years of cosmetic formulation experience, with strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, biology, physics or related field.
• Color perception and color-matching capabilities.
• Foundational formulation skills across color cosmetics technologies.
• Understanding of pigments and FDA/global guidelines for raw materials.
• 1–3 years of relevant cosmetic lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with chemists and clients to develop new color shades and customize formulations.
• Assist in shade-matching sessions and customize formulas for client engagements.
• Organize and manage laboratory operations to ensure efficient day-to-day functioning.
• Manage raw materials in the lab to support formulation processes.
• Maintain and update the color library for quick reference.
• Adjust formulations based on client feedback while complying with standards.
