Job summary

Americhem's Design Lab is seeking a motivated Designer I to craft formulations that meet customer specifications using established design rules and laboratory protocols. You will work closely with senior designers, project coordinators, sales teams, and laboratory leadership to deliver innovative polymer solutions while supporting quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves documenting formulations and test results, operating lab equipment, and contributing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 3–5 years in product design, quality testing, lab work, or related roles.
  • Experience in plastics, color, paints, inks, or custom compounding is preferred.
  • Ability to pass Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test to detect color vision deficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Create formulations meeting customer specifications using established design rules and protocols.
  • Support product development projects under senior designers' guidance.
  • Document formulations, testing results, and activities in lab systems and software.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and perform tests to evaluate product performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful product development through lifecycle.
