Job summary

Americhem is seeking a motivated Designer I to join our Design Lab team in Morrisville. You will create formulations that meet customer specifications and work with senior designers, project coordinators, and sales to develop innovative solutions while supporting quality and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and applying design principles with established protocols. A strong foundation in science and lab experience are important, with travel required

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred
• 3–5 years in product design, quality testing, or related roles; degree holders with limited experience considered
• Lab experience in plastics, color, paints, inks, or similar industries preferred
• Ability to pass Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test for color vision
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel; basic mathematical skills

Responsibilities

• Create product formulations meeting customer specs using established design rules and protocols
• Support product development projects under guidance of senior designers
• Document formulations, testing results, and activities using design software and laboratory systems
• Operate laboratory equipment and conduct testing to evaluate product performance and quality
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful product development through the lifecycle
• Draft technical reports and document process changes, observations, and test results
