Job summary

The University of Michigan's Wolverine Pathways seeks part-time instructors to support college-prep programming for motivated 10th–12th grade students across Detroit, Southfield, Ypsilanti, and Grand Rapids. Instructors deliver remote sessions, guiding students toward college readiness with structured materials.

You will lead synchronous classes, run small groups, and track progress while coordinating with WP staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts required.
At least 2 years of college advising experience.
Strong administrative and online classroom management skills.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Experience with middle and high school scholars.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Deliver college preparatory instruction remotely to 10th or 11th graders in groups of 20-25.
Lead full or half group sessions with guest presenters and scholars.
Monitor, document, and assess scholar engagement and homework; provide interventions as needed.
Maintain open communication with Wolverine Pathways staff about academic matters.
Provide 1:1 or small-group consultations as requested by staff.
Attend required professional development and in-person sessions as scheduled.
