Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking tutors to support Road to and Through College classrooms by providing targeted practice, guidance, and one-on-one attention. Tutors work during school hours, with a minimum of 10-20 hours on site per week, offering flexible support to help students reach college readiness goals.

The role includes using technology as an educational tool, maintaining a positive learning environment, and collaborating with the College counseling team to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 hours of college credit with ≥2.5 GPA or two years of full-time K-12 instructional experience.
• Instructing students and managing behavior required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate tutoring sessions and use technology to improve student achievement.
• Apply a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help develop a school-wide culture of productive learning.
• Build trusting relationships with students and families based on respect.
• Identify concepts to teach from student notes and discussions.
• Conduct tutorials in math, science, language arts, and humanities.
