  • College Intern 2: Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in an undergraduate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter); in good standing with a cumulative GPA 2.0+; have completed College Intern 1 or 24 semester (36 quarter) hours.
  • College Intern 3: Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in a baccalaureate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter); in good standing with a GPA 2.0+; have completed College Intern 2 or 56 semester (84 quarter) hours; currently enrolled in upper division classes related to the work.

This exempt, non‑permanent position provides overtime opportunities, some travel, and flexibility for your academic schedule. A commitment of at least 20 hours per week, up to full‑time (37.5 hours per week), with potential for a hybrid telework schedule after the initial training period. By taking part in this valuable internship, you can experience working with youth across Alaska. We tailor start and end dates to align with your academic calendar, with a possibility of working through summer and into the following school year.

Special Notice
  • May attend conferences and meetings on weekends.
  • May require travel in and out of state once annually, up to three days.
Minimum Qualifications

College Intern 1:

  • Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in an undergraduate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter).

College Intern 2:

  • Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in an undergraduate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter);
  • In good standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher;
  • Have successfully completed training as a College Intern 1 or 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in the degree program.

College Intern 3:

  • Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in a baccalaureate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter);
  • In good standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher;
  • Have successfully completed training as a College Intern 2 or 56 semester (84 quarter) hours of coursework in the degree program.
  • Currently enrolled in and attending upper division classes in a declared major related to the body of work to be performed.

  • A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial is okay; please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts) is used to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications.
  • Three (3) professional references, whom we may contact by phone, are required. One (1) of these references must be your current or most recent supervisor, if not already provided in the application.

Salary

This position is flexibly staffed at 1 (Range 08: $19.49/Hourly), 2 (Range 09: $20.68/Hourly), or 3 (Range 10: $21.96/Hourly), depending on the applicant's experience.
