Job summary

Johnson College is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and administer all HR programs in alignment with the college's strategic objectives. You will oversee employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and training while partnering with faculty and staff to ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in all aspects of Human Resources.
• Experience with ADP Payroll and HR processing system.
• Knowledge of recruitment and employment documentation principles, procedures, and requirements.
• Ability to supervise and direct employees.
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals and demonstrate broad HR knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain all HR policies and procedures.
• Oversee faculty recruiting process; ensure timely fills and resources.
• Monitor job descriptions, classifications and salary structures with departments.
• Advise managers on employee relations and performance management; develop improvement plans.
• Coordinate employee engagement events and training programs from concept to delivery.
• Oversee leave plan administration, including FMLA and disability, and coordination with payroll/insurance.
• Manage Workers' Compensation verifications and forms and act as main claim contact.
• Develop and administer policies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Ensure training for supervisors on government regulations and HR best practices.
• Plan and organize employee events; maintain open-door communication for staff.
