Northwestern Mutual is seeking College Financial Representatives for its internship program. You will gain guidance, a network, and a framework to build an integrated financial planning practice while still in school.

The internship mimics the full-time Financial Representative role, offering coaching, licensing support (SIE, Series 6/63), and paths to a future full-time advisor position. Flexible scheduling accommodates classes as you grow your practice.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial drive and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and networking to build your client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
• Build life skills for future career opportunities.
