Job summary

Scripps College is seeking a Catering Wait Staff member to help with event setup, serve food, and clear tables during college events. The role involves assisting with catering materials, inventory, and maintaining equipment to ensure high-quality service.

This is a regular full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. Schedule is Monday–Friday 10:00 am–6:30 pm. Hourly rates range from $21.60 to $22.75, with pay determined by experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport and unload catering materials using handcarts, electrical carts and/or motorized vehicles.
• Assist with table set-ups for events, placing china, silverware, glassware, and linen as required.
• Serve and remove plates, glasses, silverware, and other event equipment as needed.
• Perform light scullery duties and inventory dishes, cups, silverware, and decor as directed.
• Assist in the kitchen as needed and participate in training sessions.
