Thomas Cuisine is seeking a qualified Cook for college campus dining in California. You will craft scratch-made meals in a fast-paced kitchen at Mission College in Santa Clara and West Valley College in Saratoga, ensuring safety and quality with every plate.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
• High School Diploma/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and assemble all items needed for preparation.
• Follow standard recipes and production sheets to prepare nutritious, cost-effective meals.
• Evaluate food preparation and suggest changes to improve operations.
• Follow kitchen opening/closing procedures and maintain sanitation and safety practices.
• Assist with training new Food Service personnel.
• Report repairs and maintenance needs to the Supervisor.
• Meet time deadlines for tray line, cafeteria service, and catering.
• Utilize progressive cooking procedures to ensure optimum quality.
• Utilize garnishing and food presentation techniques for quality.
• Follow daily prep and pull schedules and manage next-day production planning.
• Weigh and measure ingredients, store appropriately, and manage inventory.
• Rotate supplies and maintain orderly storeroom inventory.
• Ensure safe food handling and proper storage.
