Job summary

North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, IA, seeks a finance leader to direct general and grant accounting, financial reporting, and analysis across college operations. You will oversee payroll, A/R, A/P, and ERP modules.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting/finance and at least five years of management experience, with strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge. Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance plus a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, including management or supervisory experience.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong data collection, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger activity for all funds; review and/ or approve expenditures; prepare journal entries and month-end close.
• Oversee, analyze and prepare financial reports for the NIACC Board of Directors and the State Department of Education; provide financial information for college administration.
• Monitor bank balances and cash flow; reconcile bank accounts monthly, including investments.
• Coordinate annual external audit; assist auditors; prepare work papers and final audit report.
• Oversee payroll, accounts receivable/payable and grant accounting; supervise staff and provide training.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations for Title IV funds and grants.
