IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION is seeking an analytically minded finance professional to lead financial reporting, audits, and compliance. The role oversees budgets, disbursements, and charitable remainder trust administration, ensuring accuracy and adherence to nonprofit standards.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, with 4+ years in auditing/nonprofit accounting; CPA/MBA/MAcc preferred. Hybrid work option in Ames, IA is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA, MBA, or MAcc preferred.
• 4+ years of professional experience in auditing and nonprofit accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual audit process with independent firm and prepare required footnotes.
• Oversee legal and regulatory filings including Form 990 and 990-T.
• Manage annual budget process and monitor variances throughout the year.
• Review expenditures for budget alignment and disbursement guidelines.
• Oversee charitable remainder trust and gift annuity administration and related filings.
• Manage daily general ledger activity and support financial systems administration.
