Job summary

Tulsa Public Schools is seeking a College and Career Advisor to support students in grades 9-12 with their postsecondary transition. The advisor will assist in developing Individual Career and Academic Plans, provide direct advising, and ensure students understand graduation, college admissions, and career pathways.

Successful candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have experience in K-12 teaching or advising. The role aims to enhance student engagement and readiness for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Two years’ experience in K-12 classroom teaching, advising, or counseling preferred.
• Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in K-12 education or school counseling required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct college and career advising to students in grades 9-12.
• Supports student development and refinement of the Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP).
• Coordinates access to dual and concurrent enrollment and postsecondary opportunities.

Deep knowledge of college and career-ready requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong written communication skills

Ability to support a wide variety of secondary students

Effective time management skills

Bilingual in Spanish

Education
