Job summary

Rogue Community College in Oregon is seeking a College and Career Advisor to support first‑generation and low‑income students in our target schools with advising, FAFSA and scholarship assistance, and pre‑college planning activities. You will lead workshops, coordinate campus tours and events, verify eligibility, and maintain confidential records while promoting student success and college access.

This is a full‑time, on‑campus role with potential bilingual pay differentials and opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social science, education, business, teaching, or related field.
Minimum of three years experience working with at‑risk populations or students with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Provide academic, career, and pre‑college advising one‑on‑one and in group workshops and presentations.
Coordinate events that promote postsecondary enrollment such as campus tours to postsecondary schools, guest speakers, on‑site admissions, mentoring, summer camps and cultural events.
Connect students with career exploration options, assessments, and internships.
Provide individual assessments and learning plans.
Assist students with life skills including study, communication, peer interaction, interpersonal communication, and social emotional skills.
Verify ETS application eligibility; monitor participant progression and enrollment status; adhere to FERPA and maintain confidential student records; complete monthly Time and Effort Reports.
