Job summary

St. Louis Community College seeks a TRIO Advisor to support first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities in achieving academic goals. You will provide proactive advising, educational planning, career/transfer planning, and assistance with financial aid applications.

The role involves evening hours weekly, potential travel for college tours or enrichment activities, and collaboration with TRIO staff to meet program goals and improve retention and graduation rates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Two (2) years’ experience preferred in advising, counseling, coaching, case management, training, and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and proactive advising to TRIO students.
• Assist with educational planning, degree evaluations and transfer advising.
• Explain financial aid options and assist with FAFSA and scholarships.
• Coordinate career exploration and transfer planning services.
• Develop and implement student success programming and workshops.
• Maintain student records and report on program goals.
